MATZUO AMERICA® PRO BILL SUTTON FINISHES IN THE TOP TWO FOR THE LUCAS OIL ANGLER OF THE YEAR TITLE
Northbrook, IL (August 12, 2016) - Matzuo America® walleye pro Bill Sutton completed a very strong season with a second place finish in the race for the Lucas Oil Angler of the Year title over the weekend of August 6-7, at the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (NWT) championship event on Lake Oahe in Mobridge, SD.
With top ten finishes in two of the three events leading up to the championship, (Sandusky and Green Bay) Sutton had secured himself the second spot overall going into the final championship event on Lake Oahe. Battling tough conditions that had much of the field guessing on days one and two, Sutton unfortunately was unable to get that big bag he was looking for to secure a spot on the third day of competition. After it was all said and done, Sutton did end up clinching the second spot overall, coming up just 17 points short of the 2016 Lucas Oil Angler of the Year title.
The fact that Sutton was so close remains a testament to his consistency over the course of the season. As many experienced anglers can attest, the difference between winning and missing the cut can often come down to just a few crucial split second decisions or twists of luck.
As has been the case over the past couple years, a key part of Sutton’s arsenal is Matzuo America® tackle, and perhaps more specifically, Matzuo’s acclaimed Rip-N Roll™ hooks, which are designed to slowly roll live bait while trolling or drifting, to create a tantalizing, distressed action through the water. Each hook is carefully crafted to be more effective than other hooks of the same size and weight, as their built-in strength and field-tested angles keep the hook firmly planted in the fish's mouth throughout the fight.
Sutton has been using the Rip-N Roll™ and other Matzuo Sickle® hooks since before he was on the Matzuo Pro Staff because he trusts that they are the best.
